One of the missions of the YMCA is to help members develop a strong mind,
body and spirit. We encourage you to explore three non-YMCA programs that
support these goals through these links.
To develop the mind the focus is on character. The program is the LA
based Character
Counts Program.
To improve the body the focus is on personalized physical fitness that
doesn't require a gym membership! The program is the government
sponsored
President's Challenge.
To enhance the spirit the focus is on personalized religious training.
The program is the nationally recognized
PRAY Publishing that
encourages youth and parents to work together with their respective clergy
members to develop a better understanding of their faith. Achievement
awards from PRAY are
recognized by other groups such as the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
