YMCA Trail Maidens for Moms & Daughters 5-8 grade
YMCA's Y-Maidens and Trail Maidens Programs have a primary goal to develop strong bonds of long-term friendship between mother and daughter, and meet this goal with the following objectives:
| Foster companionship and understanding and set a foundation for positive, lifelong relationships between parent and child. | |
| Build a sense of self-esteem and personal worth. | |
| Expand awareness of spirit, mind, and body. | |
| Provide the framework to meet a mutual need of spending enjoyable, constructive, and quality time together. | |
| Enhance the quality of family time. | |
| Emphasize the vital role that parents play in the growth and development of their children. | |
| Offer an important and unique opportunity to develop and enjoy volunteer leadership skills |
Within the YMCA Mother-Daughter Programs, mothers spend time with their daughter while enjoying excursions, arts & crafts, family events, tours, weekend get-a-ways, and community outreach activities. We are organized into Tribes that meet once a month on varying days, times & locations. There are also monthly opportunities to participate in Nation events where all Tribes gather together.
