Fall 2007
Catalina was a great trip for the
Shawnee. We were presented with the coveted SPIRIT AWARD
for giving Back-To-School supplies to less fortunate
students in Orange County. It’s sad to think that in a
county and country with so much, there are people with
so little, especially children. Catalina was also the
place of two water balloon battles between The Shawnee
and The Mighty Sioux (and some help from The Mohicans
and The Kaw). There were good ground and aerial assaults
by both sides. Next year, The Shawnee will surely
dominate. The Induction Ceremony on 10/14/07 was a lot
of fun. It’s a great chance to meet newcomers and catch
up on missing patches. This year, The Shawnee sold
Shawnookies. We had several different kinds and it was
hard not to keep eating what was suppose to be sold.
October 23rd was The Shawnee pumpkin patch party. We
were joined by members of The Navajo and The Hakowi. The
girls had a lot of fun painting and decorating pumpkins
as well as themselves. There were many things to do and
it seemed the girls did it all. December 9, 2007, The
Shawnee will be hosting The GHV 2007 Holiday Party. 5:00
P.M. - 7:30 P.M. at the Rogers Senior Center. Hope to
see you all there.

for ‘Thank You’),
