Navajo

November 2008

Wahoka GHV!

October was a heap busy month for the Navajo.  We kicked the month off with a major craft activity where our girls decorated their “piece” of the Great Navajo Totem Poles.  It was an exciting prelude to the Annual Harvest Picnic and Induction Ceremony, where our three new totems and many new Navajo princesses were introduced. The Totem Pole turned out awesome thanks to our artistic and creative princesses, and the Totem Heads thanks to Paul and Roxy Shulman.

We also want to thank everyone for all of the help at the Harvest Picnic. It was all the dads, wives and daughters that made our Navajo turf so happening!!  From the setting up, producing and selling "Navajo Grub", pumpkin decorating, soccer activity, all the way until tear down there was tremendous participation from all Navajo.   It holds true....."Behind every Good Man is a Better Woman!"

We ended the harvest month with a trip to the Pumpkin Patch in Seal Beach, where the girls were treated to drinks and treats, pumpkins, rides and more.  Many thanks to the Smith clan, Kendall, Kevin and Michelle for putting this on.

We're looking forward to many more exciting adventures this year.

Noonway,

Chief Russ and Princess Paige
