June 2009 Greetings! The Mighty Mohicans have been very busy having fun over the past months, and this message is to provide a recap of all the fun times that we have been having together as a Tribe with our Daughters/Dads. In December, tribe member David Capron and his two princesses hosted a fun fashion photo shoot at his photo studio in HB - Emotion Portraits. The princesses got to dress up and have lots of fun getting their photos taken. In January the Mohicans had a great time at Winter Camp. In February, the Mohicans were invited by tribe member John LaBrake and his princess to Love At First Bite Catering in HB, where the princesses made and baked pizzas to eat (see the photos from this event). The GHV Sqaure Dance was fun in March. In April the Mohicans had a fantastic time at Spring Camp at Fiesta Island (Mission Bay, San Diego). The Mohican princesses took home many awards from the Nation Games, the Mohican Braves won the Kayak Race, and the Mohicans also won the GHV Spirit Award (Great job Mohicans!). Finally, in May, the Mohican princesses and their dads enjoyed a great day at Bolsa Chica State Beach for the first annual GHV Beach Clean-up and Surf Fest.Princess Seal Rider writes about the Mohican Tribal Events in December and February: "These are some of the fun things that the Mohicans have done over the past few months. In December, for a present to the moms, we took some pictures of ourselves. It was fun dressing up and listening to music. In February we went to Love At First Bite Catering. There we made delicious pizzas. It was sort of hard to roll out the dough, so a lot of dads tried to toss the pizzas. They were very good when we ate them." It has been a great year so far, stay tuned for more fun times the second half of the year!
