2007 RECAP Greetings! The Mohicans had a busy – and fun - 2007. We
started the New Year early - at Christmas by caroling - at a
seniors’ care facility. The princesses, their families &
residents had an enjoyable, somewhat melodic time (see photos).
In January, we went rock climbing at ClimbX (see photo) & to
Winter Camp where we earned the nation’s Spirit Award. In
February, our princesses (& dads) designed, built and tested
(see photo) some really fast – & beautiful – award winning cars
for the Pinewood Derby &, in another meeting (cars & root beer
don’t mix), made some root beer & pretzels at Brewbakers. In
March, we had our Tribal Induction Ceremony where the princesses
cleansed their spirits, said the Aims & drank “buffalo blood”,
allowing them to join the roll of the Mighty Mohican tribe. In
April we had a “Swim & Dinner” party at the Pacific Sands Cabana
Club, where the princesses almost grew tails since they were in
the pool so much! Our mermaids finished the evening by having a
great meal from Love at First Bite Catering. Our Mother’s Day
craft was candle making, & we ended May by riding on the model
trains at Fairview Park (Orange County Model Engineers). In
June, we went to a Surf City Night in downtown. We met at a
strategic spot that ANY princess could find – Cold Stone
Creamery! The Mohicans sponsored the Huntington Beach 4th of
July parade – we made sure there was plenty of red, white & blue
face paint for everyone to show their colors. With school out &
seemingly everyone on vacation, in August we did manage to have
a beach party with plenty of food, drinks & more food. In
September, we ended the year as we started it (see photo) by
taking a tour of the Bolsa Chica wetlands.
