Historical November 2006 Wahoka! The Hopis had a most excellent October and November. After a great Catalina trip we hosted the first ever nation Night at the Aquarium. We filled the 120 person max limit plus an additional 10 when the Aquarium called with added space. Princesses and Braves from nearly every tribe participated and got to "sleep with the fishes". We have already reserved for next year. We
then held our November meeting at Climbx (see
photos)
which was a blast. The girls got to climb
the rock walls, ring the cow bells and swing
from their harnesses. This was followed by a
pow-wow at the Round Table Pizza where we
got to plan
out the rest of our year.
Gabby "Bling Buffalo Bling" and Mark "Hunt Buffalo Hunt" Ross October 2006 Wahoka! The Hopi had an incredible Catalina trip. We thank Martin, the last Mohican, for a fantastic job. The Hopi barely made it in with all but one of us on the wait list but we were fortunate enough to have five families make it in. We started out with an incredible steak dinner on Friday night, followed by a full day of activities on Saturday including fishing, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and nation games. After an afternoon expedition to two harbors, dinner and the nation campfire, we were invited by the Navajo to a wonderful late night snack of Carne Asada and Carnitas. Thank you Navajo! This was followed by a pow-wow between the Hopi and the Hakowi and then a late night visit to our camp by an assortment of wildlife. TATANKA! Other than the hike back up the hill from the beach, we will all have great memories of this trip and plan on making it back next year. The Hopi have planned, and are preparing to host the first ever sleepover at the Aquarium, which promises to be a night to remember. We encourage all to attend. As the year rounds out, we plan on taking the girls to Climb-X and then our great Chief Dancing Bear will be hosting a family Christmas event at a waterfront home for the Harbor Christmas parade. Wahoka!
It’s been a while since our last report so here’s the Hopi update. As a tribe we recently got back from our 1st annual Fallbrook getaway weekend. Seven of our tribe members and their kids spent a wonderful weekend swimming, playing tennis, riding and driving atv’s & dune buggies, eating good food and generally having a ball. We hope to make this a yearly tradition.
In the meantime we as a tribe are preparing for the upcoming Catalina trip and future tribal events such as pizza and root beer making at brewbakers and rock wall climbing at Climb-x.
Until next time

The Hopi tribe started our 2005-06 GHV
year with a very excited group of dads
and daughters heading out to Catalina.
We were all dressed in our new "Hopi
Pride" attire prepared to show our pride
throughout the next few days. We had an
incredible time roasting marshmallows by
the campfire, spending time with the
other tribe members, decorating our
chief and partaking in the GHV group
campfire. This is one event the Hopi's
will never miss as we have all taken a
little something home with us from this
GREAT weekend that we were able to spend
together.

Wahoka!
June is upon us and we are greatly looking forward to the first annual Hopi Beach Bash. This will be a fun and exciting way to kick off the summer for the Hopi families. There will surely be some swimming, some surfing and some weenies roasting on the fire. This will be a fun family event the tribe is looking forward to. We will also be introducing the new chief, Mark Anderson at this event. I am sure he will bring great wisdom and guidance to the great Hopi tribe.

Here are the Hopi Happenings for the month:
The Hope Tribe got together last Friday night for our monthly gathering at the Neel teepee and had a wonderful evening of fun and friendship. A special thanks to the Neel's for letting us gather at their place. I hope the damage was not permanent and they will have us back again. The tribe is looking for in great anticipation to the up coming Luau this month. I am expecting the Hopi Tribe to show up in force for this event.

Wahoka Great Hunting Valley!
The Happy Hopi had a great time at the Pinewood Derby event this past month. Our cars were fast, but not fast enough to catch a first place trophy. We all had a great time carving and painting our cars. We are looking forward to next years race already. March will bring us together for a meeting at the Pulhamus tee pee for some crafts and spring cheer. We are looking forward to the upcoming spring camp out and other events planned by the GHV.

Hopi Happenings,
The Hopi tribe had a wonderful January meeting at the Archers tee pee. As usual, we had some great crafts and some great bonding time with all the dad’s and daughters. Many thanks to the Archers for allowing us into their home once again. I am sure their home will never be the same again. All of us Hopi are greatly anticipating the up coming Pinewood Derby in February. We will be prepared to have a great time and hopefully bring home a trophy or two

The Hopi Tribe enjoyed a wonderful Christmas break spending time with family and friends. For our December meeting we all met at Lamppost Pizza for a pizza party, and then caravanned over to Naples Island in Long Beach for a parade of Christmas lights. It was a fun and festive way to enjoy the spirit of the Season. Special thanks to the Wright tribe for setting this event up for us. I am sure it will be an annual Hopi tradition. Looking forward to an exciting Winter Camp coming up and the many other fun things we do as members of the Hopi Tribe and the GHV.
Best Regards, Chris Egan
