Hopi

October 2007

Wahoka!

Summer/Fall 2007 has been terrific for the Hopi Tribe of the Great Hunting Valley.   After marching and then enjoying the 4th of July parade, there was a massive pool party with plenty of food and fun for all.   The other big summer event was a beach bonfire.   The pictures show the girls having a wonderful evening by the shore with marshmallows and S’mores.

In September, the Hopi tribe traveled to Two Harbors, Catalina with the rest of the GHV.  The journey went smoothly, and the weather was perfect for the whole weekend.  The girls had a fantastic time fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, and participating in the Nation Games.  The Hopi Dads tried their hands at the Kayak relay and we will only say that they finished the race soaking wet.  The pictures show everyone having fun.

The Hopi tribe is hosting the next Nation Event – The Long Beach Aquarium Sleepover.  Last year was the first time for this activity and it was great.  This year will be even better.
