About GHV

Wahoka! (Hello)

Welcome to the Indian Princess Great Hunting Valley Nation, serving the southern most part of Huntington Beach. Our current program membership includes over 300 fathers and daughters.

The Indian Princess program is different from scouting, sports teams, and many other activities because it is specifically intended to be a parent AND child organization. Our members join the program because father and daughter want to spend more time together. This program provides a wealth of opportunities and settings you are unlikely to find otherwise. From a father's perspective this program gives you the chance to bond with your child on many levels. The idea is to "form bonds that last a lifetime" so that when your daughter enters the middle school and high school years you have built a strong relationship and many positive memories. In the process your daughter will gain a wide circle of friends, develop a strong sense of accomplishment and self worth and get a sense of identity and belonging that is rare in today's world of small families.

In addition to forming strong parent/child relationships, the program also provides opportunities:

·         To see and do things you otherwise might not. Camping on the hills of Catalina, sledding down a mountain in Big Bear, racing a model car in the Pinewood Derby or marching down Main Street in the 4th of July Parade.

·         To meet other parents and children and make lasting friendships. You’ll join in a large circle of friends you have much in common with and will enjoy sharing time with - dads as much as daughters.

·         To learn more about where you live. See the big and little places that make Huntington Beach and Southern California special, from the wetlands of Bolsa Chica and the mountains of Big Bear to Catalina Island and the beaches of San Diego.

·         And finally, to learn about Native American culture in a positive light.
