What is the YMCA Indian
Guides?
YMCA Indian Guides
program is for Kindergarten through Third Grade Boys. The Father
and Son program was developed in a deliberate way to support the
father's vital family role as teacher, counselor and friend to his
son. The
slogan, "Pals Forever," means that father and son have a close,
enduring relationship in which there is communication, understanding, and
companionship. Y-Guides encourages such a relationship by
providing a means for father and son to share enjoyable experiences, to
observe and learn about one another, and to develop mutual respect.
The program is aimed at boys grades K-3 and their fathers.

What is the Great Coastal Nation?
Across the country the Y-Guides program is divided geographically into
various "Nations". The Great Coastal Nation serves the Southern most part of Huntington
Beach. There are approximately 200 children involved in nine
different tribes. A Child's choice of tribe is based on either
School area, pre-existing relationships with other Y-Guides, or
finding a tribe that shares the same interests and activity level.
